The Heart of Bulgaria – Where Ancient History Meets Modern European Pulse
Welcome to Sofia
Sofia is the heart of Bulgaria – a city where ancient history from Thracian and Roman times meets the modern European pulse.
Situated at the foot of Vitosha Mountain, Sofia offers a unique combination of easy access to nature and rich urban culture. With its magnificent temples, cozy cafes, and vibrant rhythm, Sofia is a city that always has something new to reveal.
As one of Europe’s oldest capitals, Sofia has been continuously inhabited for over 7,000 years. Today it is a dynamic, modern city with a population of around 1.3 million, serving as Bulgaria’s political, economic, and cultural centre.
